The technology to enable while you wait blood analysis, called fluorescence immunoassays (FIA), has only just become available for point-of-care operators like us. This means that we are one of the first clinics to offer truly rapid blood tests with accuracy normally associated with traditional laboratories.

Indeed, this is so new that we are currently waiting on the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to approve more rapid tests which over the next few months will increase our portfolio of offerings.

Rapid Blood Test Frequently Asked Questions

Can't I get these tests free of charge from my doctor?: Yes... But... You normally have to go to your doctor with symptoms - they won't just do a test because you would like it; no matter how important you feel it is for your wellness. There's also a limit on how may tests you can have in any period; your doctor would have to have very good reason to perform these tests on any form of regular basis. It's an issue of NHS resources.

But, I can get these done at a private doctor, can't I?: Most certainly, yes! But, most private doctors and clinics use traditional laboratories to analyse your blood sample. This is costly and slow, often taking a week or longer. Providing this service on-site means that we can offer you a truly rapid, while you wait, turn around at unbeatable prices.

Are the test and the results really that quick?: Yes. Our aim is to have the results in your hands before you have finished your coffee. The longest wait is 15 minutes for the PSA test with some completed in under 5 minutes.

Does it hurt?: Compared to a full venepuncture for the taking of standard blood samples - No. It's a very slight pinprick which is performed on an area of the finger that possesses few nerves - most people don't feel a thing.

I faint at the sight of blood, will I be all right?: We are quite used to people not liking the sight of blood, of which there is very little. The procedure is quick and we can provide suitable distraction for your eyes.
